Nursery School
Nursery School Abeka Curriculum
Abeka focuses on the following areas:
- Bible stories and teaching, music, memory verses, and prayer time.
- Alphabet, letter formation, recognition, and sound.
- Number recognition 1 to 15 and counting 1 to 30.
- Skills development, coloring, tracing, dot to dot, the arts, nursery rhymes, and stories, sharing, opposites, and matching.
- Language development lessons in colors, shapes, animals, people, places, and things.
Nursery School Requirements
- Children are required to have turned three-years-old before August 1st or September 1st depending on which school they will attend when entering kindergarten.
- Children must meet the requirements for Pennsylvania state School Immunization Law.
Typical Nursery School Day
- Short directed free time as children arrive.
- Opening: prayer, pledge of allegiance, and calendar.
- Music time and Bible lessons.
- Instructional session includes poetry and the arts.
- Snack, restroom break, and recess.
- Additional instructional time includes games, movement, music, and seat work.
- Scripture memorization and prayer time.
